Top Tips for Creating a Life-Work Balance

April is Stress Awareness Month and Top Tips Thursdays are devoted to the impact of stress on individuals and workplaces.
We usually use the term work-life balance. However, I’d suggest we put that the other way around and work can take our primary focus.
Here are your 20 Top Tips for Week Two
- Create a simple morning routine.
- Set clear boundaries between work and personal time.
- Switch off your phone during deep‑focus tasks.
- Create a dedicated workspace.
- Clear away work materials at day’s end.
- Take regular breaks.
- Stretch or go outside.
- Protect your lunch break.
- Log out of social media while working.
- Keep a Task List and Time Log to track your work, mood and wellbeing.
- Set sustainable work hours.
- Reserve evenings for rest or hobbies.
- Practice saying no.
- Reduce background noise.
- Plan something enjoyable daily.
- Batch similar tasks.
- Start small when building routines.
- Adjust pace when energy dips.
- Celebrate small wins.
- Be kind to yourself.
These might seem like small, simple things. However, choosing just one and trying it daily for a whole week can make a big difference.
Next time, we’ll explore Top Tips for Developing Personal Resilience. Have a good week and remember to try at least one thing from this list above and see how things work out.imes it is our secondary focus.
